wet or dry

Not sure about the wet or dry subject, but obviously the dry will have damper mounts.

As for restoring a Webasto, it might be worth asking Somerford Mini Specialists or a really good sunroof specialist?

Yes, there is a difference between hydro and (early) dry subframes. Not only is the face to which the displacer/rubber cone sits different but also the holes where the displacer hose goes through. Furthermore, the tower is different in hight and a hydro subframe has no holes for fitting the top bump stops. Finally, the threads for the bolts on the towers to fit the frame to the front X-member are different.

The frame in the picture you posted is for dry suspension, which can easily been recognised by the smaller center holes on the towers as the displacer hose would not go through such a small hole…

PS: I think this topic is misplaced in the New MINI section …

Not sure what happened with Webasto. Local vehicle trimmer used to fit and repair in Sheffield but last time I spoke to him he's no longer doing so as he can't get new units or spares.

Webasto list stockists on their site:

but if you've got an old roof I don't know what support's available.
