Mini Cooper Register
The Cheshire region of the Mini Cooper Register will be organising a club display at the Oulton Park Gold Cup on bank holiday Monday August 28th.
This will be the second day of the famous Gold Cuphistoric race weekend , and the HSCC race card will look something like this…..
Several MCR members are set to take part in the race for historic saloons in their Mini Coopers. There will also be a rally stage this year centred around group B cars and it has been suggested some of our members will be asked to take part in demonstration runs.
Due to the size of the stand complementary tickets have not been offered but a reduced entry fee for the day has been set at £12 per person and space has been allowed for 25 cars plus the works bus. Members interested in coming alongand displaying their car can contact meat email@example.com
Once our ticket allocation has been filled tickets will be available from Motorsport Vision at http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/events/event-details.asp?ProductID=1460.
For those who haven't been before there's plenty to do for the kids with amusements and stalls laid on, and for the spectator good vantage points all round the picturesque Oulton Park Circuit ( am I selling this well enough ? ) and lots of parking close to thetrack.Camping is also available at the circuit .
Only a few spaces left for the MCR club stand (18 cars and a BMC bus so far !) so any members wishing to be apart of the display need to get a shift on.
From Practical Classics this month………
Bread and butter classics chase champagne at Oulton Park!
Oulton Park's annual Gold Cup is racing the way God intended – with classics. Keith Moody goes trackside in Cheshire with four great motors and finds that all you need to race is an old car, a set of spanners and a strong constitution…
At the eleventh hour I have just beeninformed, ( having been lead a merry dance up the garden path:X !) , that all drivers of MCR club cars will get aFREE pass , only the passenger(s) if over 12 years old will have to pay admission.(£16 advance or £21! at the gate)
Sorry for any confusion folks but there's still time to getone of the lastfree passesfor any MCR member wishing to display their car.
Details of the rally stage and our mooted participation in it to follow shortly.
