thanks the car im looking at is a R56 turbo charged looks like a great car full service history 22000 miles looks like its been well looked after, just need to test drive it and take the plunge
Im looking at buying a mini cooper S, about 2006 / 2007 is there any thing i should look out for… as a daily driver are they ok ,,, any recomended insurance companies my budget is around the £10000 mark and want a car with less than 30000 miles cany colour other than white or red ( wife dont want those colours !!! ?) white or black roof sat nav if possible
Well things are moving on at fast pace.. 56 plate Cooper S R56 turbo charged car, lazer blue with white roof, chilli pack, still has service waranty left and full service history, 1/2 leather, panoramic sun roof, 1 owner from new with 22000 miles, mot till next october just got to organise a delivery day and convince myself to pay the money, Ive done a deal with the garage that if i buy it, they tax it and deliver it from north london to me in Portsmouth at no extra cost 😀
Fantastic spec, can you imagine sitting slumped in a chair in the old folks home thinking I wish I had bought that car, life's too short !! You could always buy some new curtains instead.
after frantic emails…. i pay the deposit tomorow and should …finger crossed have it delivered by the end of the week !!! shock horror and classic cooper owner converted to a MINI…. cant wait Mark Walker you have a lot to answer for hahhaha thanks to you guys on here aswell, i keep you posted and put some pics up once i have it 😀
My son bought a 58 plate ordinary Cooper S last May and leaves it here for us to 'look after' when he goes back to sea so I have had a few miles in it. It is a great car, very fast, goes round corners like a proper mini and the ride is reasonable, there is sport mode on his that can be switched on as required if you want more response. If I was in the market for one I would probably stick with this model as the extra money required to purchase and run a faster one may not produce more smiles per mile. A slight niggle with BMW is their insistence on using run flat tyres and no spare, ok if you are one up as you can do a few miles on a flat but if the car has a full load the range on a flat is low and not everyone sells them. So a great car, might be worth trying to find one with the remains of the 5 year free servicing then enjoy it!!
Good Luck
Don
Enjoy the car Andy. I did enjoy my 'S'. The only thing at risk was my driving licence, the car was so responsive and enjoyable. Too often I joined the motorway, 1st lane, 2nd lane, 3rd lane oooops 110 mph, slow down! 😉
I thought the colour combination was Red, Orange, then Green. Take care and don't forget to stop for provisions at the Patisserie as you did on the 2004 M2M!
Enjoooooooooy.
:):):)
Well this is when it came off the delivery truck this morning…then a nice trip across the new forest to lymington, got home took the wife and kids for a run.
100 miles later and I got better fuel economy than my alfa (not bad considering i was using a lot of the 170 ponys under the bonnet).
So do i make a visit to my regions meeting tommorow night ? How will they react to me selling my long term classic cooper and buying a MINI COOPER S….!!

Glad you like it, 3 years on I still enjoy driving my MINI just as much as when I first got it. 😀
