MINI Countryman at CPoP

  1. The BMW stand at the Cholomondeley Pageant of Power had a Countryman on display. Here's a couple of pics of a rain soaked MINI.

    It's big, for a MINI.

  2. Thanks for posting pictures :)……..BMW have said at 4m long this is the biggest version they will ever produce in the MINI range. As mentioned elsewhere the next addition to the range (MINI-Minor) is likely to be smaller than the current hatch.

  3. They should have built some 'stocks' to put it in so we could all throw rotten fruit at it ! 😮

Only it's mother could love it ! :p

There you go Pete – A sure-fire money making idea for Bulee next year 😀

Not sure if mother would love it – I hear adoption papers are being drawn up :p

  5. :p
Looking foward to the Woody version of it Andrew.

    NOT !

Is there no end to what great ugly lump they'll stick a Cooper badge to ?

  6. A well respected member of the MCR has already ordered a MINI Countryman to replace his Clubman according to the latest MCR magazine!
Good to see others in the Mini community can also see BMW have actually had the vision to build the MINI into a successful growing range of small cars over the last 10 years………and with more to come like the Coupe, Roadster, MINI-Minor and now back to rallying with the WRC MINI Countryman 4×4 rally car with Prodrive. 😎

What a shame none of the previous British owners of the Mini ever had the vision to update & invest in the future of the model range but left it to slowly decline & die until 1994…………..

  7. Oops, I'm in trouble now ! (not again ) He is a much respected MCR member !

Of course Don I'm only joking , I think your new 'Maxi's a stunner really. :p Feel free to bring your new addition to Oulton anytime , though I think we'll need a much bigger stand ! :p

    See you in August.;)

    Love

    Glen

  8. Hi Austin Pete-Glen. Funny you should mention a Maxi. Last Sunday I was in Abingdon and someone mentioned he had purchased a 'blaze Maxi' and would you believe, I saw one in Broadway yesterday. It was immaculate! I don't think it was his. Sorry I could not get to POP and also Oulton Park but I do read invites in mag.
    'Sad MCR member.'

  9. 🙂
🙂 Yes, in fact the same well respected member of the MCR actually placed a firm order last night at Sytners of Coventry for the New MINI Cooper Countryman Diesel, to be delivered as soon as possible after launch on September 18. (I had previously reserved a car at Sytners with a modest deposit).

Very impressed with the car that we saw last night in Coventry, not the one at C. P of P. (The one at Sytners had built in Sat Nav). Looking forward to seeing what Prodrive can do with one in WRC.

As time progresses I maintain that I am very content, and honoured, to perpetuate John Cooper's name on my family car – in the Countryman a car more suited to the practicalities of being a grandparent in 2010!

    😉
;)I look forward to taking the Countryman to Oulton Park 2011, Unfortunately I will not have it for this year so will have to take APC! (Mk.II Cooper 'S'). Hope that this is OK with Mr. Glen Ponder and his distant relative Austin Powered – I know how much it was appreciated when I took the New MINI Cooper Diesel in 2008. Like it or not the car received a lot of public interest back then, from a very knowledgeable motor racing audience.

It's certainly growing alright ! :p That car has about as much in common with the original concept of the Mini as a Panzer tank ! Only the tank's a better looker ! :p
