Speedo Bezel

I have removed the bezel around the speedo to refinish it. Behind was some solid mastic on some sort which fell away. When replacing the glass it rattles as this "mastic" is missing. Does anyone know the best replacement material?

Cheers guys. I was contemplating sending the speedo to speedy cables over the winter for a re-furb. The repaired and converted my smiths tacho last winter.

They will ask yuou for proof of mileage, so before yuou send it, photocopy your last MOT. It'll save you a few days. They are really really good. Had mine converted for a 3.1 diff. It reads absolutely perfect and doesnt judder.

There should be an o-ring compressed between the two. It's probably the original o-ring you think is mastic, the last one I stripped was very gungy.

Why do they need proof of the mileage? I want it back with the same mileage, no funny business, although I want them to recalibrate it, as it reads fast.

The bezel is normally held on by simply bending the edge of the bezel periodically.
