Can someone give me a little guidance please.

I have repaired a small rust hole in my bodywork about the size of a 50p

Luckily I have some paint given to me by my local body shop, its paint left over when they sprayed the front of my car, an excellent match. I have repaired the spot, applied primer and carefully sprayed the area.

The problem is the over spray is a slightly different colour and the paint is very matt and rough to the touch.

How do I get it to match in and shine? If I sand smooth with wet and dry and apply clear lacquer?

thanks guys

what i would do is flat it off with 800 wet and dry , then dry off . then t cut a wider area. then get a grey coloured scotch brite and key up this area you have just t cut . next spray the colour and fade out slightly. when the colour has flashed off ,ie dryed to the touch , then apply a clear laquer . you need to spray this clear laquer no further than the area you have just t cut and grey scotch brited. let it dry for 24 hours then slight rub down with 1500 wet and dry then either t cut or use a mop with g3 compound . hope this helps . how do i know ? ive been a car sprayer salvage / repairer for 31 years . . good luck
