I was wondering, about how to store hydro parts & cars ?
A fríend have bought a car, with hydro suspension, and it has lost the pressure, my question is, does it need to be put on axle stands? and does it suffer, from the inflated state, its in now?
How about parts, taken apart? is it the same as brake parts, they rust as soon as air gets in? or? if they rust, what can be filled in, to preserve them?
Last question is about complete cars, with hydro, do you leave them on the wheels? or put them on axle stands, during winter?

Personally, I have never taken any particular precauctions with my hydrolastic cars. My Mk1 'S' has not been on the road for many years and the hydrolastic has remained 'up' apart from developing a leak a few years ago (a new valve- an MGF part - cured it). Having been re-inflated on that side it has stayed up in storage/during restoration.

I've run five hydrolastic Minis since the 1970s and have had very little trouble with them. I know that not everyone feels the same but I greatly prefer the ride they give. I have twice suffered the inconvenience of a burst displacer but do not think that is TOO bad over 35years or so - different cars, 20years apart and both times outside the house! I have never had to do much maintenance or regular pumping up to retain a correct ride height.

Not sure about spare parts - I don't have any:eek:.
