MPI Roof sound insulation help

I am having a problem with the roof lining, it will need replacing, that is a problem, but not THE problem.

This trashed roof lining seems to be have been caused by the sound proofing becoming unstuck from the roof, what I would like to know is if it is usual on an MPI mini to have this felt type soundproofing ? It is similar to the under carpet soundproofing.

Should I replace with like for like, or is their something more effective, and less likely to part from the adhesive in the near future?

The more effective solution......a thin £3 camping mat! Cut it into two to keep it strait and cope with the contours (not too close to the edges to hinder the headlining bars) and use some spray evostik type adhesive!

Thanks, that sounds like something which will stick in place long term, the thick and heavy felt fitted by Rover has split just below the adhesive.

Dynamat is a popular choice for sound deadening and reducing vibration in panels.
