Hampshire region meeting (28 replies)
Looks like we need to leave a trail to follow......or give you a mobile number:D
Few problems with that Mike.
1. You never switch your mobile on.
2. The hamster that powers it does not like the cold!
3. The string is not long enough.:D
The other problem is telling everyone. We can't just leave a message with the landlord. Nice thought that might be though.:D
As the G & F is en route to the Millburys we will call in there for a pint, at which stage if you let me have your mobile number, we will call you to discuss tactics. Mine is 07721 476371. Cheers
Maybe DEWS members competing in the Speed Series could bring their registration fees:D
We have a number of people who are unaware of the impending change who will be coming to the Millburys. This includes some new members, so the majority of us will be at the Millburys and then see if everyone wants to go to the George.
Glad you liked the proposed new venue, The owners daughter is a friend of ours and the pub is a family run. Going by the surroundings and the Beer we could have a good venue for the future. Dave the owner is a friendly guy looking to help us out where he can, with summer events and hog roasts. The menu looks great with food for all the family.
they have also just taken over another local pub, more locally known as the sausage pub, well known for home made sausages.
Next Hampshire meeting
Can anyone give me the time of the meeting and the postcode of the pub/restaurant/bordello....
The George & Falcon
SO32 3LB, England
Next meeting will be on the 16th of February 7.30pm (ish) onwards
Nice to see Alan & Steve at the G & F having driven up from darkest Dorset.
New pub looks very nice, open fires like the old pub (but not actually up the chimney like we were use to ). Beer was nice, something I wasn't use to:D. Menu looks pretty good too, will eat there next month as part of the on going test programme.
We found the George & Falcon without any problems 🙂 arrived approx 8pm & told the landlord we were meeting other members of the MCR , he showed a lot of interest & told us he used to be the proud owner of a 997 Mini Cooper & now owns several Alfa Romeo's . He also told us Jon Dooley of the Alfa club uses the George & Falcon as a meeting place , other Hampshire region MCR members then started to arrive & we enjoyed a pleasant evening , we liked the venue & will return . We had a good run home , so all in all very good .
