2 lovely cars, congratulations and good luck with them 🙂
The right hand tank neck is duck taped over due to a locked cap being forced off whilst stored, not obvious but look again at the picture
amazing find - congrats, where did you unearth them from?
Looks like the right hand one doesn't have the the r/h fuel tank. They keep turning up but you hardly ever see them. Very soon they'll be losing their exclusivity! Could be that one day these cop cars will become as common as, say, ex works cars
There's photo evidence that some of the Mk1's and 2's didn't have twin fuel tanks. This was confirmed by one of the drivers (who was still employed as a civvy instructor on the driving school at Merseyside Police when they borrowed mine for a couple of months several years ago) who was on the traffic dept during the Mini Cooper era. I can only suppose that these were built on standard Cooper bodies.
Did a few hours work on mine last and this weekend. Heated the plugs over the toaster, put them back, turned the engine over a few times to get oil pressure, put hot plugs in and it fired pretty well immediately. Running as sweet as a nut
Nice find 🙂 and 2 of them in one place - not bad .
I see they are now on Ebay! I wish my pockets were deeper!
