Newcastle & Durham regional meet (492 replies)
DONT FORGET IT'S THE MONTHLY MEET AND QUIZ NIGHT ON MONDAY!!;);)
I'm still working away so good luck with the quiz. 🙁
What a surprise, your team won again Niall.
Results from the quiz last night:
1. Team Broadspeed - 38.5 points
2. The 'S' Team - 38
3. The Bull-mers - 37.5
4. The Don't knows - 24.5
Thanks to all for a good turnout and lively night. Thanks also to Dennis for preparing and delivering another excellent quiz.
Yeh a total fix again and the rest of them are too stupid to realise ;);)
It doesn't seem that long since the last meet but it's club night next Monday people. If you've not been before the meets are held at the Dun Cow pub in Bournmoor, which is just a few minutes drive from the Chester-le Street turn off the A1. Proceedings start at 7.30pm, with the pub serving up curry and chips for those that want it (usually all of us) at 8pm for the princely sum of a fiver, which includes a free drink. Please feel free to join us - we're a pretty friendly lot, with a wide range of interests, so I'm sure you'll find the trip out worthwhile.
PS. And if that's not enough, I'm also led to believe that MCR royalty and a former winner of the Big Valve Award (aka 'The Photographer') will also be making an appearance at the next meet!!
Oops I've obviously missed notifying people about the April meet but here's a reminder about the May one, which'll take place next Monday 5th of the month at the usual time and place. OK, so it falls on a bank holiday again but that doesn't usually stop us and with Blyton between now and then there should be plenty to talk about so hope to see folk there. Cheers, Niall. PS for the June meet we intend visiting the classic car museum in Newburn and a nearby hostelry - the Keelman. More on that later though.
I might have a couple of pics from Sunday for the meeting. 😉
A reasonable turnout last night despite the BH - thanks to all those that came. Nice also to see more than just the odd mini in the pub car park, as well as the reappearance of DPY. 😉 Will let folk know about the venue for the June meet asap. Cheers all.
As already indicated on email to members, there will be a change of venue for the June meet, the coming Monday the 2nd and that is the Newburn Hall Motor Museum in Newburn on the outskirts of Newcastle.
We'll be there at the usual time of 7.30pm, with a view to heading off somewhere else afterwards for a drink/food as appropriate.
Entry to the museum is a very reasonable £2 and i'm led to believe there are one or two surprises in store.
Hope to see plenty of you there. Cheers, Niall.
