Hello,

I've seen a 1997 Sportspack Cooper that has a 'sport' badge on the right hand side of the boot. I've had a look in the special edition 'pinned' section of this forum, but can't find the answer to my question. How was this any different to any other Sportspack cooper (if anything?) Do all Sportspacks have this?

On howmanyleft.co.uk, the Sport seems to have it's own entry, and there are just over 900 taxed cars left. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

I think the badge question is the subject that John Parnell pretty well got to the bottom of in this and last months Cooperworld

The badge would have been an addition by a previous owner. They were only factory fitted from early 2000.

^ Agreed ! These badges only appeared from the factory on the silver roof / silver & black leather interior 2000 classic range cars. The badges are widely available from all the good mini spares providers so naturally some Coopers with Sportspacks owners have decided to buy them to fit them. The Cooper Sport has its own chassis identifier as well - only genuine 'Cooper Sports' have a chassis starting with SAXXNP, all pre 'Cooper Sports' are Coopers or minis with optional sportspacks and have a chassis number starting SAXXNN or SAXXNW. Hope that helps
