September 2013 Photo Competition (9 replies)
Firstly, many thanks to Kris for selecting my photograph as the winning entry for the August competition.
For this month, I thought we'd have Industry as the theme, as it worked quite well on another forum that I'm a member of.
To start the ball rolling, here is a photo that I entered a previous competition with. Its the Conoco petrochemical works at Immingham, which gives the impression of a cityscape when driving past it at night. As its a tradition on that forum to name your entries, I called it Chemical World after the Blur song.
It could be buildings (used or disused), people at work or anything else that takes your fancy.
Good luck everyone.
No photos yet
No industry left anymore
the worlds gone to pot
just ran out in the factory an snapped our busy cnc department - where the bloody hell is everyone ????
A photo of a lime kiln at the disused Cowdale Quarry.
Local disused ironstone quarry rail wagon . We played on this as kids in the 60s and I was amazed to find it still there in the undergrowth nearly 50 years later.
Took this photo when me and my son went exploring , tried to move it , but sadly seized solid .
Thanks for your entries, quality over quantity?
For me shaddy has to be the winner, so congratulations.
Rougeleo thanks for the backstory, always nice to find out some background about a photo, and pad, its just nice to see some Industry still going strong.
Congratulations Shaddy. Cowdale is near to me also, i'm at Middleton by Wirksworth.
your not fair away from me at all.
