Is this way way too expensive??? (9 replies)
First post and a newbie to the forums. Been looking for a mkiii s for a few years and they rarely seem to come up for sale. I have seen this one advertised... Very expensive but looks like the real deal. Any thoughts/comments? What do you think of the price? Any help would be much appreciated! Funny you say that, I seem to have seen Mk3's come up for sale more often than Mk1 or 2, quite a few event recently. Looks a lovely car but you'd want paperwork to back all the claimed history up before you shelled out what amounts to record breaking type money for a Mk3 S.
Its certainly got a very good tale attached to it , built by special tuning and john cooper , last car ever built , like pete said , paperwork to prove it , just sounds to good to be tru

I had HPB 814K...... it does make an interesting read specwise tho....but 24 k is a lorra dosh if its not true .. seems like a nice car to me ??!! foxy52
Yes.., but it's cheap compared to this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUSTIN-MINI-COOPER-S-MK-III-1971-GENUINE-FACTORY-CAR-REG-TFX-3-TRANSFERABLE-/331215646442?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4d1dfdaeea which has been on sale for a long time now, and at that price will remain on sale !, I've found out it's registration, it was a car that belonged to us many years ago that I restored with my Dad
To be honest YOW566K looks great and its worth the asking price. Pity about the sunroof. R
Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated. Looks like a true car but it is very much top $. What do you think the premium over a good car is? Thanks Darty
Ask a room full of people for an opinion and you'll get a room full of different opinions, mine is that it's a good £5K over. £25K is decent Mk1 S money, Mk3's have never been Mk1 S money. It also depends on what the underside looks like!
Bargain. Have you seen what people are paying for all sorts of things these days? As for the sunroof, best thing you can fit to a Mini. If I hadn't fitted the Webasto to my MkII, I'd have sold it ages ago, horrible, hot little buzzbox that it is. With the roof shut.
