Some advise please, My mk3 floors are quite perforated, which is the prefered method of repear? -
1. Fitting a complete one piece floor pan.
2. Fitting a individual L/H & R/H panels.
The CentreTunnel is good at the front but would need some repairs to the rear section. And the seat Crossmember needs minor repairs to the R/H side.
Its an early 1971 built car with 6 flute sills that seem to be original, Is there a known date/chassis number when they changed from 4 to 6 flute?
Is Mini Machine as good as any to buy panels from?, I realise quality varys and most panels need adjusting to fit.
Thankyou in advance. Stuart
With regards to the sills give the MK3S registrar a call he advised me on what mine should have been fitted with based on the build dates. I think mine was an October 70 build date and required the 4 flute sills. With regards to M Machine,I found them very good. They made me up a new MK3S boot floor to rear seat panel using a later MK5 item. The fit was perfect as was the details. Doreen who answers the phone has some good knowledge.
I had a MK2 boot floor from M-Machine and that was very good. I also have a complete floor from them waiting to go on the car. Dooreen is excellent, very knowledgeable and very helpful.
