1967 (E) Mark 1 Cooper restoration project for sale (No replies)
For the past 18 years I have had a Mk1 Cooper sat in my garage. It was purchased partially stripped and my intention was to restore it upon my retirement. This will now not happen in the near future and so I have decided to sell everything to clear space.
I have a current log book and heritage certificate.
The colour is island blue/white roof
The shell is the original but will require the usual extensive repairs to replace the corroded floors, sills and other panels. It was sandblasted shortly after I bought it. I have been quoted approx £3000 plus parts for this work plus paint. It is mounted on a homemade rotisserie which is included.
Doors, bonnet, boot (double skin) are all original.
The subframes show light corrosion and retain the hydrolastic displacers and pipes. The front subframe is fitted with an early 850 engine(with removable cam covers) which is shown on the log book.
I have a correct 998 cooper engine/ gearbox. SU carbs and original air box manifold etc,
There are no seats and the original trim is present but has been painted black. The original headlining is present but will require careful restoration.
The dash panel / speedo is the correct 100mph type.
If interested please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can forward photographs.
Price is open for discussion. I have seen similar projects on apparently sell for 5 figure sums but accept that it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.
I would prefer to sell to a register member but if there is no interest I will list on the well known auction site.
