Hampshire region update

Hello everyone

As I am sure you will have seen by now, our Beaulieu day is on. The date is the 13th June. Social distancing will be in force but I am sure that will not detract too much from the day. The advance ticket line can be found on our website www.minicooper.org Just go to the Beaulieu page and follow the link.

Every year we ask members from our region if they would be willing to help out at the event. This is mostly car parking and is for a maximum of 2 ½ hours. It gives a great opportunity to meet people coming to the show and comes with a free entry ticket and a voucher for food. There are two shifts, one starts at 8am and the other at 10.30am. Some people have already put their names forward, but if you are interested in helping, then please drop me a line either in reply to this or on beaulieu@minicooper.org

The event will be celebrating 60 years of the mini Cooper. As a result all the Registrars have been asked to provide cars for the main display and also the individual Register displays. If you would like your car to be in either of the displays in the arena then please contact the Registrar for your particular Cooper or mini.

Due to Virgin media charging silly money for a broadband connection our phone number and Sally’s email address are changing. As soon as I have a date for the change I will let everyone know. Unfortunately at the moment we have been waiting for a month already for BT to repair the line in the road! Sally’s new email is already active and is sallyannsalter@outlook.com

We are hoping that we can meet in the latter part of May, although at the moment we don’t know where. It may well have to be a barbecue or similar on a Sunday until we can sort out a proper venue for regular monthly meetings.

On the car front it looks like that the first chance to get out for me and my Elf is likely to be the mini festival at Prescott hillclimb near Cheltenham in late May. Competition entries have opened and both Paul Holloway and I intend to compete. If you have not already heard of the event, try looking on Facebook at the Sporting Minis site or look up Prescott Hillclimb’s website. I don’t think tickets are available yet, but they will be shortly and it looks like it might be a good event.

If you need us for anything or just a chat then please drop us a line or call.

Tony and Sally.
