Hi there ,converting my wife's japanese import mpi auto to manual , I have a manual mpi block built up on a refurbed gearbox , flywheel casing on end floats done .......question as japanese MPi's are an spi / mpi hybrid should it have an spi or mpi flywheel, my gut instinct says mpi but would like to be sure.

Don't forget that to do a Auto manual conversion you need to fit 10mm, 3/8" in imperial, spacers between the engine mountings and the power unit.
You will also need to drill an extra hole in the subframe on the nearside. The Auto mounting at this side has a bigger pitch for the holes in the mounting. One is in the right place, bolt on a manual mounting and spot through to drill the other one.
That said it is much easier to fit the unit in the frame as there is more space to get your hands in.
