Hampshire Region At our last meeting the landlord of our pub (The Bakers Arms) announced that he is leaving for another pub locally. Additionally, the pub will almost certainly be closed for refurbishment at the time of our next meeting in February. The pub that our landlord is leaving for is well known amongst many of the region members and bearing in mind our good relations with him while we have been at the Bakers Arms, a vote was taken and the regional meeting will move to the ‘new pub’ The Millburys for the next meeting. The venue for future meetings will be discussed at the meeting in February as well as any plans for activities through the year. Due to the nature of the new venue, this will probably include a small show and shine as well as the return of the regional summer barbecue. The Millburys is located near Cheriton at Beauworth and is easily reached from Winchester on either the A272 or the Morestead road. From Petersfield again the A272. From Southampton via the M3 up to Winchester and from Portsmouth cross country through Bishops Waltham or through Petersfield. We hope to a few more of the not so regular Hampshire members and perhaps a few that haven’t been before. Finally, The Millburys is located in some beautiful countryside and boasts good food, a lovely old building, large car park, and a skittle alley. What other excuse to come do you need? |
