Recreating the Mark 1 Mini Bodyshell

Fifty years after the last Mark 1 Mini rolled off the production line, British Motor Heritage Limited have recreated this iconic vehicle's bodyshell for the benefit of Mini enthusiasts worldwide. Features specific to the Mark 1, such as external door hinges, sliding windows and many others have been recreated using a mix of traditional and modern engineering techniques.

There is free parking available on campus and outside Mechanical Engineering after 6pm – please use the intercom at the East Gate and let security know you are attending an IMechE event and they will allow you access (there are only direction signs for our event from the East Gate). Please note that after 7pm the doors to the building may be locked for security, so please arrive early.
