OIL COOLER FIXING BRACKETS (3 replies)

Am I correct in thinking that on the MK2 'S' the lower fixing points for the two oil cooler brackets should be through the downstand edge on the front panel as I am sure I read somewhere that the brackets could be fixed to the sub-frame, not sure how though.

They are fixed to the front panel by a bolt and nut, the top, The leading hole meets the front panel that has been "bent" backwards. Thats how it is on my "MK II S", which Ive owned since 1971....

Thanks ROLI for the info.

With regard to your brackets have they a threaded stud on top of an extended steel tab (engine side) to take a spring washer and nut and a threaded hole at the front to take a self tapper to secure the oil cooler on top of the front panel?
