We’ve done a little blurb on Andrew Bell so we thought we’d start a Members’ Page featuring a guest member and their car(s)

This month’s members are Andy Burgess appearing on this page, and John and Colleen Fett and Andrew Bell overleaf.

Now I have asked most everybody ( if they’re game enough) to send in a shot of themselves with their car.

Purchased in 1984, this 1968 Mk 1 was bought to tidy up for Andy’s son’s first car. It was stripped of several colours and then repainted 2 pack black.

It has ROH Contessas, non standard trim and wide flares  - otherwise it’s a very standard ‘S’.

Its previous history is unknown, except that it was supposedly used in Club Rallies as evidenced by all the dints.

This 1961 850 Sports was purchased by Andy in December 1961 for everyday use.  It was cherry red and has just about had every modification known to an 850 ‘A’ engine wrought upon it.

It was taken off the road in 1989 for a tidy up with 360,000 miles on the clock!

Andy drove this car in 1962 from Brisbane to Perth and back, being one of the first Minis to cross the Nullabor - about 800 miles each way of very rough gravel and bulldust.

It’s a slow moving resto to be completed for the Mini 50th.
