1962 Morris Cooper. Purchased in Tasmania, Australia January 2004 . Was a 'side of the road' sale and was in average condition. Paint was faded, it had been over lowered and bits were missing. Drove well and sounded awesome. Became friends with the previous owner and had it shipped up to Queensland. Transferring registration was difficult as many short cuts had been taken in Tasmania. Once examined and money paid it has been a very reliable vehicle. Apart from Cobra racing seats and harnesses, it was discovered to have a 1275 engine and Cooper 'S' front disc brakes and steering column. Suspension changed to adjustable springs and an amazing exhaust note. After a major clean up and TLC the car has received a new radiator, new tyres, and a half cage. A new sports steering wheel, horn and livery to match the 1960's Monte Carlo winning works cars.

The Cooper has appeared at Queensland Raceway on numerous occasions for 'test' days, parades and historic events. It has been invloved in many rallies, show-and-shines and annual RACQ motoring events, including 'Motoring of Yesteryear' and 'All Brittish Day'. In 2007 the car won two first place trophies (Best Classic Modified and Best Racecar) at the 2007 Queensland Mini Muster. Always the centre of attention, it is loads of fun to drive and I will find it hard if I ever have to let it go. I just wish the temperatures in Queensland were less hot, so it could be more comfortable.
